Picking Pulls, Knobs, or Locks?

Which one would you pick - stylish or functional?
Why have them and what should I pick?
Pulls help with the longevity of your cabinets especially with paint, easier to pull with drawer systems, and acts as added character or jewelry. Consider the style of your home and cabinets. Is it more traditional, transitional, or contemporary? Traditional has some hardware detail, transitional is little less detail and contemporary is minimal to no detail. Then, the size. We will explore visuals to better understand this!

So, what are the types and which ones should I get?
There are so many to choose from so, it can be overwhelming. Fortunately, on amazon the filter option pops up when you type in hardware or pulls for cabinets. From there you can choose the type, size and finish. You can mix it up if they are close in color or finish. Chrome and gold are the brightest. So, they should not go right next to each other. For example, chrome and nickel or gold and brushed gold would be better in close proximity.

How much does it affect the budget of my cabinet install?
It depends on the hardware and how many holes need to be drilled. If it lowers the budget install wise, use all knobs or mix knobs with another style. Sometimes, mixing brings more interest!

Another example is this cup hardware:

And of course, little to no hardware for the contemporary look:

What is trending or coming back?
Vintage locks! I wish I knew. It looks so much better than those plastic locks. In the next remodel I will share. The long hardware lock is called a security bolt, and the small one is called a cabinet latch.
